Nashville goalkeeper Joe Willis somehow escaped a red card when he saved a shot close to the halfway line during Sunday’s MLS defeat to Atlanta United.
Quite why he felt the need to take such drastic action is unclear, as his side were losing 1-2 deep into stoppage time in the opening day match at the LP Field.
I'm not sure what I love more, Joe Willis just jogging back like nothing happened or Barco's incredulity https://t.co/FnBk7YhynF

The away team’s Ezequiel Barco, who opened the scoring in the 9th minute, attempted to score from just inside the opposition half during a late breakaway.
Way outside of his area, Willis clearly smothered the effort with his hands but only received a yellow card for the infraction.
