A Mansfield fan pushed the ball out of Mickey Demetriou’s hands before the Newport player was able to take a throw-in during a League Two play-off semi-final second leg.
The two sides took the tie at historic Field Mill into extra time and then penalties on Sunday evening when the game remained goalless after 90 minutes following a 1-1 draw in the first leg.

With the tense clash trailing towards the end of the second half, an overexcited home fan was able to reach over and knock the ball out of Demetriou’s hands as he prepared to throw it back into play.
The nearby Mansfield Town fans cheered the moment with one particular neighbour waving his hands from side to side with glee.
It was Newport County who had the last laugh however after not missing a single penalty in the shootout.
