One young man could be seen struggling to stay awake as England captain Harry Kane collected his MBE for services to football from Prince William at Buckingham Palace on Thursday.

The Tottenham forward was receiving the award after leading the national side to a World Cup semi-final under the stewardship of Gareth Southgate last summer.

Sitting in the front row of an ornately-decorated room, one suited attendee appeared to be falling asleep while the process continued before him.

The clip featuring the bloke nodding off was then promptly beamed around the world as fans watched the player being appointed to the Order of the British Empire with interest.
