Former Liverpool player Jermaine Pennant has been on The Jeremy Kyle Show alongside his wife, Alice Goodwin, to discuss their relationship.

Since leaving Billericay Town late last year, Pennant has been without a club and was able to appear on Celebrity Big Brother.

Criticised for seemingly flirting with fellow housemate Chloe Ayling, the couple came on the daytime talk show on Friday to clear the air.

In an episode entitled ‘The truth about my marriage to “love rat” Jermaine Pennant’, the 35-year-old pretended to walk off stage when asked to take a lie detector test but came back and reassured Goodwin:

I’m alright. I’m good. But I’m not coming on the show to do one. Behind closed doors.
