A torrential downpour at the end of the first-half meant the rest of the game was played on a water-logged pitch as the weather conditions forced play to be suspended and threatened a late abandonment at the National Training Centre Senec in Slovakia.

Faced with an open goal in the 92nd minute after the French goalkeeper was only able to parry an earlier shot, the 19-year-old, who plays for Real Sociedad Femenino, contrived to send the ball high and wide from less than six yards – to the dismay of her colleagues and delight of her opponents.
