Shay Ben David’s shot deflected in off an injured opponent as Hapoel Afula beat Kafr Qasim 3-0 in Liga Leumit, Israel’s second tier.

With a player from the defending team lying prone on the turf just inside the six-yard box, Ben David’s strike cannoned off him and rifled into the roof of the net.

He then wheeled away to celebrate with his delighted teammates, who were now on course for a comfortable victory in Tuesday’s match at the Afula Illit Stadium.

The win leaves Hapoel Afula lying 9th in the league after 29 games, while Kafr Qasim are 12th.
