Gabriel Jesus pushed the VAR on-field review screen after receiving a red card during Brazil’s 3-1 Copa América final win over Peru on Sunday.

The Manchester City forward was sent off after seventy minutes at the Maracanã, having earlier put his side 2-1 ahead deep into first half stoppage time.

He flew off into a tantrum, shoving the VAR screen and sending it toppling over – although a man in a suit managed to prevent it from crashing into the turf.

Sitting on the steps of the famous old stadium, Jesus wept and cried out in anger – but he was to end the day with a winner’s medal, which must have softened the blow.
