Footage of Cruz Azul’s win at Club América in Mexico’s Liga MX showed a statue of a celebrating fan after the visitors scored, in the absence of any real supporters.

Cruz Azul beat Club América 1-0 behind closed doors at the Aztec Stadium in the final round of games before the league was suspended due to fears over the new coronavirus.

Jonathan Rodríguez netted the only goal of the game in the 65th minute in Mexico City on Sunday night.

As the players celebrated in an eerily quiet 87k-seater ground, the camera panned across the empty seats before settling on the bronze statue of cheering supporter Ignacio ‘Nachito’ Villanueva.
