Exeter City Under-23 boss Matt Taylor appeared to turn off a floodlight with his hand during his post-match interview following their 2-1 win at Dagenham & Redbridge on Tuesday night.

The youngsters came from behind to seal their place in the Premier League Cup group stage thanks to two goals from striker Matt Jay midway through the second half.

But it was “delighted” Exeter coach Matt Taylor who took the headlines when he reached up and seemed to switch one of the floodlights off with a wave of his hand while chatting pitch-side at the Chigwell Construction Stadium.

The 35-year-old former player, who amassed over 150 appearances for the club, joined the coaching team on an unpaid basis at the trail end of last year.
