A dog and a cat invading the pitch interrupted a Liga MX match twice as Pachuca hosted Chiapas on Sunday.

The reasonably large and very enthusiastic dog somehow managed to bound onto the field at the Estadio Hidalgo midway through the second half.

It gets a cuddle from one of the managers in the dugout before pressing on, eventually having to be unwillingly collared by stewards and led away from the action.

Then, in the 85th minute, a cat suddenly appeared, sitting peacefully near one of the corner flags.

That is until the oncoming referee scares it away behind the advertising hoardings and play can resume for the home side to see out a 1-0 win.
