The Denmark team checked a phone on the pitch to see if they’d qualified for the knockout stages of Euro 2020, despite being surrounded by celebrating fans.

Having just beaten Russia 4-1 in Copenhagen in their final Group B match, they huddled together and looked up the score of Finland vs Belgium.

Given that they were effectively at home, they could presumably have taken the jubilant scenes in the stands as confirmation that they’d done it.

A 2-0 win for the Belgians ensured a 2nd place finish for the Danes and a Round of 16 fixture against Wales in Amsterdam on Saturday.
