The 1000-seater ground has a variety of access routes, one of which appears to have been used by a chicken during the Group B clash on Saturday afternoon.
With American Samoa waiting to kick-off once again in the last few minutes, the bird appeared near one of the corner flags and had to be herded off the pitch before play could continue.
The biannual competition decides the only qualification spot from the Oceania Football Confederation at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Championship.
Tahiti eased up after going in 6-0 up at the break but the other game in the group on Match Day 1 finished 30-0.
