The Canadian team were forced to use a good deal of bug spray when they came under attack from insects during a training session at the Women’s World Cup in France.

Kenneth Heiner-Møller’s side were inundated as they prepared for yesterday’s final Group E match against the Netherlands in Reims.

They went on to lose 2-1 at the Stade Auguste-Delaune but still qualify for the next phase in 2nd place having won their opening two matches against New Zealand and Cameroon.

Canada reached the semi-finals of the 2003 tournament in the United States where they were knocked out by eventual champions Germany.
