Benfica TV commentator Valdemar Duarte called FC Porto “scum” as they took to the pitch five minutes late for Tuesday night’s Taça da Liga semi-final.
Duarte’s also called the rival team’s players and staff “bandidos”, “mafiosos” and “corja”, the latter of which translates as ‘rabble’.
He also says of Porto’s sporting director Luis Gonçalves that to call him a dog would be an insult to the Canine race.
O FC Porto vai apresentar queixa contra Valdemar Duarte e contra o Benfica.

Porto’s director of communications Francisco J. Marques confirmed his club would press charges regarding what he sees as Duarte’s “recurring” behaviour.
In the match itself, Porto beat Benfica 3-1 at the Estádio Municipal de Braga to set up a Portuguese League Cup final date with Sporting on Saturday.
They are also five points clear at the top of the Primeira Liga, with Benfica lying in 2nd place.
