Australia Women captain Sam Kerr told critics to “suck on that one” after they bounced back from two goals down to beat Brazil 3-2 at the World Cup in France.
The Matildas had drawn some harsh write-ups after losing their opening group stage match to Italy, which followed defeats in friendlies to USA and the Netherlands.
It's great to hear what Sam Kerr thinks post-match, given the emotion of that win. But who exactly are "the haters"? The Matildas have incredible support from all corners. And with that comes the reality that if you play badly, it will be pointed out. That's not hate.

They trailed 0-2 to the Brazilians after 38 minutes of Thursday’s game at the Stade de la Mosson but rallied to secure a crucial victory.
In a post-match interview, 25-year-old Kerr, the all-time leading goal-scorer in both the Australian and US leagues, had this to say:
We don’t listen to the haters. We came back from the deep.
There were a lot of critics talking about us but we’re back so suck on that.
