Augsburg goalkeeper Andreas Luthe hugged the referee after the official dramatically brought their visit to Mainz to an end.

Bundesliga referee Marco Fritz held his hands in the air as he approached Luthe in the final moments of added time in the second-half of Augsburg’s 1-0 win on Sunday.

The 33-year-old shot-stopper appeared confused as he tried to let the seconds ebb away with the ball in his hands.

Eventually Fritz reached him, retrieved the ball and blew the final whistle – eliciting a hug from Luthe.
