An assistant referee lost his bearings and ran onto the pitch while officiating CRB’s visit to Figueirense in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B last week.

With Henan Faria da Silveira leading a counter attack for the home side shortly after half-time at the Estádio Orlando Scarpelli, assistant referee Márcio Gleidson Correia Dias found himself following the action a little too closely.

Figueirense scored but the goal was correctly disallowed by the linesman, who had a good view from his position several yards inside the sideline he was supposed to be patrolling.

The match ended 0-0.
