Arsenal mascot Gunnersaurus was hit in the face by a young fan’s penalty at an Emirates Cup clash against Lyon.
French side Lyon lifted the trophy after two second-half goals gave them a 2-1 win over Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday.
The home side’s green dinosaur mascot faced a series of spot kicks from members of the club’s Junior Gunners programme at the break.
One of the them struck Gunnersaurus directly in the head before compère Nigel Mitchell encouraged the child to knock the rebound in.
The cumbersome eight-foot giant also changed shirts and lost another penalty shootout to Bayern Munich mascot Berni at the friendly pre-season event.
