Aaron Ramsey kicked off Arsenal’s 0-2 Carabao Cup quarter-final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur by passing straight to opposition player Son Heung-min.
Lining up alongside Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang for the start of the match, Ramsey bypasses the forward in an apparent attempt to find Henrikh Mkhitaryan to the right of the centre-circle.
However, the Welshman’s pass is intercepted by Spurs forward Son, who would later open the scoring in the 20th minute.
Dele Alli doubled their advantage in the second half with a delightful chip over Petr Čech following Harry Kane’s lofted through-ball.
Tottenham will face bitter London rivals Chelsea in the semi-finals and will fancy their chances having recently beaten them 3-1 in the league at Wembley.
League One club Burton Albion take on Manchester City in the other semi-final.
Their manager Nigel Clough was also the last man to take a third-tier side to the last four of the competition, doing so with Sheffield United in 2015.
