An alpaca named Oscar invaded the pitch during Saturday’s West Yorkshire League Premier Division match between Carlton Athletic and Ilkley Town.

The animal bounded across the field of play as both sets of players looked on in bewilderment, eliciting amused chuckles on the touchline.

In the game itself, Ilkley ran out 2-0 winners at Carlton’s Town Street ground to make it six points out of six for the new season.

The hosts however lie joint bottom of the table having lost both of their opening fixtures.
