A Swiss Super League match between Vaduz and Young Boys played on for eight minutes without anyone noticing there were two extra balls on the pitch.

With the game ending in a goalless draw, it might even have been the most interesting feature of Sunday’s encounter at the Rheinpark Stadium.

Switzerland’s top flight is no longer using ball boys for the current campaign, leaving twelve footballs dotted around the perimeter of the field instead.

Somehow two of them ended up encroaching on the action here, not that anyone noticed.

Top-of-the-league Young Boys failed to break down bottom side Vaduz on the day, but they did have Jean-Pierre Nsame sent off late in the first half.
