Trevor Sinclair’s attendance at a Christmas party yesterday took an unexpected turn after tweets were sent from his account suggesting Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal had been, or was in the process of, getting sacked.
The former Manchester City winger later claimed that he’d left his phone “on the table at a Christmas party”, suggesting he didn’t send the tweets himself.
But the social network had already been sent into uproar by his messages and accompanying photo of the club’s hierarchy.
