Norwich City’s Ryan Bennett apologised to Piers Morgan on Twitter for pushing Arsenal’s Alexis Sánchez into a cameraman’s pit during their 1-1 draw at Carrow Road on Sunday.

Television replays of the incident appeared to show Bennett nudging Sánchez into the drop as the pair were chasing a ball quickly running out of play.

No one was more incensed than famously vocal Arsenal fan Piers Morgan, who claimed:

That Norwich halfwit should be sent off. Bloody stupid, dangerous shove on Alexis.

To which the offender later replied that he was sorry.
