Praise the Lord, the Gazza death rumours are false and have been denied by Paul Gascoigne himself via the former England international’s Twitter account.

Reports that the legendary midfielder had been found dead at his home had been circulating on social networks over the past few days.

And apparently Gascoigne had received “loads of texts and calls” enquiring whether he was in fact dead or not.

Gazza laughed the incident off in a series of tweets, asserting “if someone is dead i would not text the person because he is dead ha”. So true.

See all the tweets below as the Gazza death rumours are thankfully denied by the 46-year-old national treasure that is Paul Gascoigne:

Had loads of texts and calls yesterday from friends and family calling and texting me worried that i'm dead
