See the royal baby-style Yeovil easel that announced Town’s new loan signing, defender Alan Tate from Swansea City.
Imitating the presentation with which news of the birth of the Prince of Cambridge was released to the public, an easel displaying the loan details was placed outside the Yeovil Town ground yesterday.
Using similar wording to the official royal baby announcement, it reads:
Yeovil Town Football Club was safely delivered of a loan defender at 1.00pm today.
Alan Tate from Swansea City has signed until 2nd January 2014.
Signed:
Yeovil Town Football Club
Swansea City Football Club23rd July 2013
BBC News reports that club media officer James Healey came up with the idea after being woken up in the middle of the night by a thunderstorm.
He said:
We knew Tate was signing and we thought we could do something a bit different to announce it.
With all the royal baby stuff going on, we thought about having a go at doing this.

Unfortunately it’s a computer-generated image though. So if you were just heading out the door to have a look, turn back now.
