Take a look at the letter Paris Saint-Germain wrote to pop star M.I.A. regarding the video for her “Borders” single, in which she wears their club shirt with the Fly Emirates logo altered to read ‘Fly Pirates’.
It seems the Ligue 1 giants have taken issue with the “Paper Planes” star apparently linking them to the global migrant crisis, demanding that the video be pulled and compensation paid for “the harm we have suffered”.
They said:
We consider that the use of our brand and image in a video clip denouncing the treatment of refugees is a source of discredit to our club and distorts its public communication policy.
In case you happen to have some time to kill, here is the intimidatingly long letter that PSG’s deputy CEO Jean Claude Blanc sent to M.I.A.’s record company Universal Music…
As of yet, M.I.A. doesn’t appear to have taken PSG’s threat of action overly seriously…

Needless to say, the video is still up…
