See the somewhat depressingly small Coyle Out banner that was spotted at Wigan v Derby on Sunday.
Derby came away from the DW Stadium yesterday with a 1-3 win, doing little to encourage an improvement in the slightly muted atmosphere surrounding the north-eastern club.
Currently lying in a mid-table Championship position, Wigan Athletic have experienced a run of poor results recently and have now suffered 4 consecutive defeats in the league and European competitions.
Unrest had spread amongst fans of the side, leading for some to call for manager Owen Coyle to be sacked.
A tiny banner of sorts, being held up by 2 particularly disgruntled fans, was photographed at the match on Sunday reflecting exactly this anti-manager sentiment.
So check out the small Coyle Out banner spotted at Wigan v Derby on Sunday that everyone’s talking about.
The 2 pictured fans will be pleased that their protest succeeded and Owen Coyle became the third Championship manager to be sacked this weekend.
As seen on Football Away Days, who said that “Owen Coyle must be feeling the pressure”:

One user replied that it was “astonishing that it took TWO PEOPLE to hold it”:
