The i newspaper used a photo of Aaron Wan-Bissaka with an article regarding his Crystal Palace team-mate Wilfried Zaha speaking out about racist abuse.
Zaha says he also received threats to his family after winning a late penalty to help his side to a 2-2 draw against Arsenal on Sunday.
In a statement, i newspaper blamed an “honest production error” for an image of the wrong player ending up next to the piece:
Thanks for drawing our attention to this. It was an unfortunate but honest production error. Original story was about Wan-Bissaka which was over-written when Zaha story appeared. Pic should have been changed but was not. pic.twitter.com/bLWo7ryjYo
