This is the child who dressed up as his hero Mohamed Salah for World Book Day, clutching his Liverpool FC 2017-18 annual as an amusingly tenuous link.

The image was originally posted on Twitter by the boy’s father Scott Alcock and was subsequently shared by Soccer AM, earning thousands of likes and retweets.

Using face paint to replicate Salah’s beard and eyebrows, the look is completed with a curly wig in tribute to the Premier League’s top goal-scorer with 28 goals.

However, as this picture shows, he’s not the only child to dress up like Mo Salah recently:
