Boos and chants of “you don’t know what you’re doing” echoed around St James’s Park on Saturday as Newcastle United slumped to a 2-1 defeat to fellow strugglers Reading, so a Nile Ranger Twitter broadside was hardly likely to go down well with a frustrated Toon Army faithful.
Although the ire had apparently been directed at manager Alan Pardew for his decision to bring on the defensive James Perch for the attacking Sylvain Marveaux with the score still at 1-0, it would seem that Ranger had interpreted it as being aimed at himself and his Magpies teammates…
If u are loyal fans.. Be with us.. When we are out there on the field.. Be the 12th man.. Don’t come and BOO.. That aint going to help any1
— Nile ranger (@NilePowerRanger) January 19, 2013
…after being met with indignation and abuse, the young forward offered to deal with his critics face-to-face…
Going nandos.. Any1 got a problem.. Meet me there. We can talk it through :)

Ranger then left the matter on the following rather inflammatory note…
Last thing from me… To all the fans. U are not forced to buy season tickets.. Or pay our wages.. Please remember that…

@the_looney_toon Speechless! Joey barton tweets some shite, but that is just unreal! Everything that is wrong with a modern day footballer!!
