Arsène Wenger marked twenty years as Arsenal boss by not seeing Laurent Koscielny’s controversial winner at Burnley.

The defender’s last-gasp slap at Turf Moor handed – quite literally, you see – the Gunners all three points.

Wenger robustly denied having witnessed the handball, reigniting memories of unseen incidents past.

The Frenchman has enjoyed a long and illustrious history of failing to see things, including questionable refereeing decisions and many of his own players’ failings.

On one famous occasion, he failed to see an entire match due to unforeseen struggles with an especially fiddly puffer jacket.

Speaking exclusively to Football Burp, a smiling Wenger revealed what else he did to celebrate twenty years as Arsenal manager.

He said: “I didn’t see my family but I’ve just been told they were all very happy for me.

“My wife says she sent me an eCard but I didn’t see it.”
