Paul Pogba has reportedly been discovered unharmed after alarming millions with his strange disappearance midway through yesterday’s EFL Cup final.

A late Zlatan Ibrahimović header gave Manchester United a fortuitous 3-2 victory over Southampton, but the match was overshadowed by concerns for Pogba’s welfare as he mysteriously vanished from the field of play.

Despite appearing to start the game, it soon became evident that the French midfielder had been replaced by a vortex through which Southampton runners were swarming.

This enabled Claude Puel’s Saints to draw level from two goals down, causing great distress to the Sky Sports commentary team who had their collective heart set on a United victory.

Fortunately, Pogba came to no harm and was found dabbing in front of a mirror in the changing room by coaching staff after the final whistle.

No official explanation has yet been given for Pogba’s disappearance but it has been claimed that when he was found he was repeating the words “je ne suis pas le £90m Carlton Palmer” to himself over and over again.
