Liverpool left-back Alberto Moreno is to be awarded the freedom of the city of Seville after his latest virtuoso performance for Sevilla FC.

Moreno conceded a crucial free kick and penalty as the Reds went on to blow a 3-0 half-time lead in what is already being dubbed “a reverse Istanbul”.

The errors, which saw the Champions League clash end 3-3, follow on from his match-winning turn for the La Liga side in the 2016 Europa League final.

Speaking exclusively to Football Burp, Jürgen Klopp remained philosophical.

He said: “I’m delighted for Alberto – Seville’s a great city, he should enjoy having the freedom of it.

“On the other hand, I’m pretty steamed at his performance. Now I’ve got to drop him for a whole season all over again.

“Which sucks for his career, but at least he’ll get to experience what Seville oranges are all about.

“They’re just really great oranges.”

He added: “Wait, you mean to tell me Alberto actually comes from Seville?

“Motherf***er.”
