Claudio Bravo’s name still cooler than Joe Hart’s, insists Guardiola

"It's proper Hollywood," roars defiant Spaniard.

Pep Guardiola has leapt to the defence of Claudio Bravo following his red card at the Nou Camp, pointing out he still has a really cool name.

The former Barcelona goalkeeper had a torrid time on his old stomping ground, getting sent off for stupidity as Man City crashed to a 4-0 defeat.

Rushing out to sweep-keep in his inimitable heart-in-mouth style, Bravo’s legendary feet let him down as he scuffed it directly to the nearest opposition player.

He managed to save the resulting shot, before falling backwards into a paddling pool full of rat traps.

So debilitated by laughter was the referee that he had no option but to give the hapless Bravo his marching orders.

Although many were quick to draw comparisons with Joe Hart, currently on loan at Torino, Guardiola was having none of it.

He said: “Joe Hart’s name is quite cool, I suppose.

“It rhymes with ‘go kart’, doesn’t it, and it’s got that sort of Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart glamour about it.

“But Claudio Bravo is downright Hollywood as names go. That’s what I need in a goalkeeper, what my system demands.

“I’m confident that Willy Caballero will prove an able deputee since he sounds like an old Wild West hero.”

He added: “Whistlin’ Willy Caballero.”
