The best jokes as Wales Euro 2016 run comes to end v Portugal in semis

Chris Coleman's men end tournament as heroes despite somehow conspiring to lose to England.

It was the Wales Euro 2016 run that sent shock waves throughout the continent – and now it’s been ended by Portugal in the semi-finals, let us at least enjoy the best jokes.

Chris Coleman’s heroic side finally came a cropper as second-half goals from former Man Utd duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani sent the Portuguese through to Sunday’s final against either France or Germany.

While it may be the end of the great Wales Euro 2016 adventure, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t at least try to see the funny side:

If Ramsey hadn't got suspended, Ian Rush was 30 years younger and Ronaldo had been born an ostrich, Wales probably would have won this.

Amazing performance by Wales getting all the way to the semis of such a major tournament and getting knocked out by the losing finalists.

We've been forced to cancel the Tom Jones tribute act.

England will fraud their way back into the top 7/8 rankings above Wales with a 100% WC qualifying record before another tournament collapse.

Unlucky Wales.

You showed great character!
