After his appointment earlier this month as the new manager of West Ham United, David Moyes lost his first game at the helm of the club, suffering a 2-0 defeat at Watford on Sunday.
Much has been made of the former Manchester United coach’s return to management following a series of unsuccessful spells since leaving Everton.
Moyes replaced the sacked Slaven Bilić at a troubling time for the team, who remain in the relegation zone, and there were already murmurings of disquiet among the visiting fans in the stands for the only Premier League game of the day.
This is a selection of the best jokes as West Ham lose 2-0 at Watford in their first game with David Moyes in charge:

My main takeaway from the last four years of David Moyes’ career is that I can’t imagine anyone takes Alex Ferguson’s restaurant recommendations seriously any more.

BREAKING NEWS: David Sullivan has just shouted: "You're a f*cking fraud, lad" from the stands, and thrown a dildo at David Moyes' head. Bang out of order, imho.

David Moyes: 'I think a lot of people expected a performance like that…'
That's the spirit Dave.

We're basically about to ruin Moyes' reputation even more. That's how bad this club is. This ain't Moyes' fault.

Today was David Moyes' 38th PL defeat since leaving Everton.
A full season of defeats in under two seasons worth of matches.

Moyes just mouthed “get in the box” to Andy Carroll. And people say coaching is dead…

Bit disrespectful to West Ham fans that. You have 107k followers, you should think more carefully before tweeting in future.
