Two Thomas Müller strikes either side of a fantastic equaliser from Watford’s Ikechi Anya turned out to be enough to overcome a brave performance from Gordon Strachan’s rejuvenated side.

Aided by some controversial refereeing decisions, it was a shaky start to Euro 2016 qualification for the World Cup winners with Anya and Everton’s in-form striker Steven Naismith proving to be a troublesome pair for Joachim Löw’s defenders.
