Talking Hull City with Affairs

Guitar/synth player Dan Parker discusses his beloved Tigers.

Affairs

To mark the release of Affairs’ new single “Blood Science”, we spoke to guitar/synth player Dan Parker about his beloved Hull City…

How did you come to support the Tigers?

Having lived in the area I was naturally drawn to support my local team, Hull City.

What are your thoughts on the season so far? And what are your expectations for the rest of the season?

My expectations are that we get relegated. Ever the optimist I know… I always thought we would struggle this year but it is disappointing to have lost a lot of big games like the ones against Leicester and Burnley for example.

Do you think the manager is doing a good job? If not, who would you like to see replace him?

Bruce is the man. The club needs stability and he provides it.

Which areas of the team/squad would you like to see strengthened?

Upfront, in goal, in defence and in midfield. We need to bring in real quality. We have some very good players we just need more top quality and for Jelavic to stay fit.

Have you managed to get to the ground much to watch them over the years?

I went more whilst living in Hull but I have managed to catch them at Manchester United this year. My first game was against Watford, the worst was the dreary 0 – 0 against Portsmouth and best was probably when we beat Everton 3-2.

We went three-nil up in the first half then Everton clawed two back and then we hung on for the win. The atmosphere was electric at that game.

Finally, if you had to select a five-a-side team out of all the players you’ve seen play for your team in your time as a fan, who would you pick?

GK (Reluctantly) Alan McGregor
DF Michael Turner
MF George Boateng
MF Tom Huddlestone
AT Dean Windass
