Consider your transfers with these McDonald’s FIFA World Cup Fantasy tips for forwards in the semi-finals of Russia 2018’s official fantasy football.
You can now select up to six players from each team, so bear that in mind when choosing how to use your five free transfers.
If you need to make more transfers on top of this then you can, although you’ll incur a four-point deduction each time.
And remember – there will be a third place playoff match between the losing semi-finalists, so each team still has to play twice.
Now for the recommended forward picks, including players from France, Belgium and Croatia.
Harry Kane is too obvious to list, but you should have him if you can afford him.
Antoine Griezmann/Kylian Mbappé, FRA – 10m/9.1m
It’s tempting to go with the cheaper Mbappé, but Griezmann has more big game experience and has the added benefit of being first-choice penalty taker.
There could be a case to be made for including both, mind you.
Eden Hazard, BEL – 10.1m
With four-goal Romelu Lukaku acting as more of a decoy than a finisher in recent games, the stage could be set for Hazard to wreak havoc.
He’s also Belgium’s first-choice penalty taker, and penalties have after all been such a key feature of this World Cup.
Mario Mandžukić, CRO – 8.9m
He’s been enjoying a reasonably productive tournament despite only scoring once, claiming an assist against Russia and winning a penalty against Nigeria.
Despite not being the most explosive striker left at the World Cup, he could well pose problems to England and is cheaper than his counterparts.
Good luck and happy selecting!
