World Cup Fantasy Football Tips, Semi-Finals: Strikers
First things first, get Neymar out of your team if you haven’t already – he’s set to miss the rest of the tournament through injury.
Gonzalo Higuaín finally opened his account with the winner and an all-round impressive performance in Argentina’s 1-0 quarter-finals win over Belgium, so it might finally be time to team Lionel Messi with a strike partner.
Arjen Robben and Robin van Persie let down many a Fantasy side by failing to score in 120 minutes of football against Costa Rica, so we’re not sure we much fancy their chances against an Argentina side that looks unwilling to open games up.
As for Germany, it all depends on a) whether the version of Fantasy Football you’re playing lists Thomas Müller as a midfielder or a striker, and b) whether or not 36-year-old Miroslav Klose gets any minutes.
We’re inclined to go with Argentina here. Perhaps Hulk as well, seeing as he’s likeliest to replace Neymar as Brazil’s attacking focal point. Nice little bet-hedger, that.
Happy picking and see you for the final!
