Now, those defender tips…

Liam Moore, Leicester City – £4m

This weekend sees Leicester at home to Burnley, who can’t seem to buy a goal for love nor money.

The Foxes have hardly been watertight themselves but they’ve got to be in with a shout of a clean sheet here. At just £4m, Moore is their cheapest starting defender.

Also consider their £4.5m goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.

Neil Taylor, Swansea City – £4.6m

See how Newcastle United get on at Stoke tonight – if they struggle then our money’s on them failing to score at Swansea on Saturday.

At just £4.6m, Taylor could be one of the bargains of the season as long as he remains first choice.

Patrick van Aanholt, Sunderland – £4.5m

Gus Poyet’s side have drawn their last two games 0-0 and could conceivably be set for another at home to Stoke this weekend.

Might be worth looking at players from both sides, then, although again you should see how Stoke get on tonight.

Joleon Lescott, West Bromwich Albion – £4.9m

Away to Liverpool may not be an obvious fixture to rope a West Brom defender in for, but a) West Brom won 1-0 at Spurs, b) Aston Villa won 1-0 at Liverpool, and c) their strength at set pieces could well undo a home side that’s not too clever at defending them.

Lescott’s contributed to clean sheets in both of his appearances thus far and he proved his knack for a goal at Everton. Given that connection, expect him to be fired up for this one.
