Fantasy Premier League tips for three potential West Bromwich Albion bargains in 2014-15? Why, come on in and help yourselves!

We can’t say we’re particularly upbeat about the Baggies’ chances this season under Alan Irvine, so our overarching advice would be to give their players something of a wide berth.

Get in your car and drive away from the Hawthorns, Peter Odemwingie style. Whatever it takes.

If you will insist on a spot of West Brom then the following three players might just provide you with value for money – so gather round as we slip you our Boing-tastic Fantasy Premier League tips…

Joleon Lescott – £5m

Not one to draft in straight away on account of an injury that’s likely to keep him out of the start of the season, but keep an eye out for his return date.

The former England defender scored 12 league goals for Everton across the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons, so he’s got a very valuable commodity in his locker.

We don’t expect many West Brom clean sheets but, at 6 points per goal for a defender, he could be well worth the gamble.

Brown Ideye – £6m

Another new signing who might not be fit for the start of the season, the Nigerian forward was prolific at Dynamo Kiev and a surprise omission from his country’s World Cup squad.

Can he carry his form over into the Premier League? Who the hell knows? Just keep an eye on his progress because he’s relatively affordable and has little in the way of competition for a starting berth.

Andre Wisdom – £4m

At that price, the on-loan Liverpool defender is likely to be the Premier League’s cheapest regular starter this season.

As such, he’d be a canny substitute option for those looking to free up some funds for elsewhere in their side.
