Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 37: Strikers
If you’ve already read our goalkeepers/defenders and midfielders round-ups, you’ll have noticed something of a theme: Manchester.
This is because Manchester City and Manchester United have two fixtures each in Gameweek 37, and what’s more they all look varying degrees of winnable.
City travel to injury-hit Everton then play at home to beleaguered Aston Villa, while United play at home to both Sunderland and Hull City.
As such, do we really need to tell you that Sergio Agüero, Edin Džeko and Wayne Rooney could represent an ideal front three, injuries notwithstanding? Thinking of Agüero and Rooney in particular, there.
Rooney’s been something of a flat track bully of late what with braces against Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Norwich City, so he’d seem to be the obvious choice of captain.
Put it this way – if he scores two apiece against Sunderland and Hull, which most likely earn him three bonus points on each occasion, then captaining Rooney for Gameweek 37 could yield a points haul of 52.
Neither Rooney nor Agüero come cheap, mind, so if you’ve a strict budget to adhere to then you might want to look at Swansea City’s in-form Wilfried Bony.
Bony has four goals from his last two games, costs just £7.3m and has a home game against a Southampton side with little to play for coming up this weekend, in case you need some convincing.
See how £8m Lukas Podolski and £8.5m Olivier Giroud get on against Newcastle United tonight before considering how they might fare at home to West Bromwich Albion on Sunday lunchtime.
