Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 29: Midfielders
There are only five matches in this Gameweek, so you’ve got to ask yourself: how highly do you value your various assets? And are you willing to gamble on sacrificing points in order to make all the necessary changes?
We answered those questions more thoroughly in our Gameweek 29 goalkeepers and defenders round-up, but suffice it to say we think it could be worth losing some points in order to make more back.
If you have a star player you think you could get away with cashing in on, then Manchester United offer some relatively inexpensive replacements who could free up valuable funds for elsewhere in the squad.
Adnan Januzaj isn’t necessarily a guaranteed starter, but he played 79 minutes of the Red Devils’ 2-0 win at Crystal Palace last time out, so there’s reason to believe he’ll start at West Bromwich Albion this weekend.
At just £4.9m, Januzaj offers you financial flexibility – less so the £7.7m Marouane Fellaini, although we’re backing the former Everton man to start scoring having seen him come close on a couple of occasions in the win at Palace.
The presence of Southampton and Stoke City in this weekend’s fixture list makes strong cases for £8.1m Adam Lallana and £5.8m Charlie Adam, who travel to Crystal Palace and Norwich City respectively.
Neither are easy games, so you might want to consider Palace’s £5.5m Tom Ince and Norwich’s £5.9m Robert Snodgrass.
Chelsea are at home to Tottenham Hotspur, so Chelsea midfielders – that’ll be Eden Hazard for a lot of you, and perhaps André Schürrle for those of you who took his hat-trick at Fulham as a cue to lash £6.9m on him.
