This Euro 2016 Fantasy Football tips Matchday 6 goalkeepers round-up, based on the official UEFA game sponsored by McDonald’s, is here to usher you in the direction of clean sheets in the semi-finals.
With all Matchday 6 fixtures taking place on Wednesday July 6th and Thursday July 7th, recommended selections include players from Germany, France, Portugal and Wales.
Manuel Neuer/Hugo Lloris, Germany/France – €6.1m/€6.0m
The Bayern Munich stopper is still yet to concede a goal from open play at the tournament and put in a heroic display as the Germans defeated Italy, so don’t rule him out from keeping a clean sheet even against a France side that beat Iceland 5-2.
Having said that, Germany have hardly been free-scoring – 3-0 round of 16 over Slovakia notwithstanding – so there could well be defensive points for the hosts here.
Wayne Hennessey/Rui Patrício, Wales/Portugal – €5.0m each
Wales in the semi-finals – what a story! Portugal have kept a relatively tight defence to win their last couple of knock-out matches, but bear in mind they conceded three times against Hungary in their final group stage match so they’re far from impervious.
As for Wales, they’re likely to miss the all-action influence of Aaron Ramsey in midfield, but the passion with which they defend suggests they could hold out here.
It may very well come down to a straight shoot-out between Ronaldo and Bale, so it’s hard to back either of these ‘keepers with any great deal of conviction. However, you may disagree.
Good luck and happy selecting!
