This Euro 2016 Fantasy Football tips Matchday 2 captains round-up, based on the official UEFA game sponsored by McDonald’s, is here to give you guidance in selecting a skipper.

With Matchday 2 incorporating each team’s first group stage game – all taking place from Wednesday June 15th to Saturday June 18th – recommended selections include players from France, Wales, Portugal and Germany.

1. Olivier Giroud/Dimitri Payet, France (forward)

2. Gareth Bale, Wales (forward)

He’s so likely to score against England it’s almost silly. Why pretend otherwise?

3. Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal (forward)

Not quite as prolific at international level as he is for Real Madrid, and Austria are a decent side, but it’s hard not to at least consider Ronaldo.

4. Thomas Müller, Germany (forward)

Germany v Poland could be a tight game, but if anyone’s capable of breaking the deadlock it’s Bayern Munich’s Müller. Er, or his club-mate Robert Lewandowski on the other side…
