Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku is collaborating with Belgian musical artist TheColorGrey on a track called “New Levels”.
Like Lukaku, TheColorGrey, real name Will Michiels, is of Congolese descent and the pair grew up in the same Antwerp district.
In this clip, Lukaku raps lyrics from “D’Evils” by Jay-Z, with lines including:
This s**t is wicked on these mean streets
None of my friends speak
We all tryna win
But then again, maybe it’s for the best though
‘Cause when they seen too much
You know they tryna get you touched
Whoever said that illegal was the easy way out
Can’t understand the mechanics
Of the workings of the underworld
The video was met with mockery by his Red Devils team-mate Jesse Lingard, who tagged Lukaku in an Instagram post alongside this footage:

It’s not clear whether Lukaku will rap Jay-Z’s lyrics on the final track or if he was just practising.
