One of the Portsmouth mascots completely bypassed the pre-match handshakes ahead of kick-off in their League One clash with Walsall at Fratton Park on Tuesday night.
The pre-game ritual is now an integral part of any mascot’s experience on match day, but one of the youngsters didn’t seem interested at all.
As the others started down the line, the child broke away from the group with captain Gareth Evans at the front of the home contingent and walked off.
The visiting Walsall line-up watched with a mixture of surprise and amusement as the Portsmouth mascot put his head down and strode away.
Soccer AM featured the clip from Portsmouth’s 2-0 win on the Sky Sports programme.
