Police escorted Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley to a cash machine after he’d refused to pay for spilling chips in the back of a taxi.
Onlookers laughed and joked at the incident when the cab stopped outside Hannah’s Bar on Hardman Street in Barkley’s hometown of Liverpool.
Having initially protested that he had no change and therefore couldn’t pay for the mess, officers intervened and forced him to cover the cost of cleaning.
It’s not been a vintage few weeks for the England international, who missed a penalty in his side’s 0-1 Champions League defeat to Valencia.
