Italy players did the Macarena dance with fans in the stand following their 0-1 defeat to Brazil in the Women’s World Cup in Valenciennes on Tuesday.

Marta’s 74th minute penalty, a record 17th goal for her at World Cups, was the decisive moment at the Stade du Hainaut and took her side into the last 16.

Are the Italians doing the macarena again? What year is it in Italy?

Having already qualified as Group C winners, the Italians were in celebratory mood even after losing and they let their supporters in on the fun.

While still on the pitch, they danced the Macarena, a routine made popular in the video for Los del Río’s 1995 hit of the same name.

It seems the dance remains hugely popular in Italy, as it’s not the first time the team have performed it recently.
